Old banjo

The banjo is a religious instrument used to worship Satan. It sounds pretty good.

History

By the end of the Great War the banjo had been completely revamped by Peter Holmström[1]. Through countless experiments and freak accidents, Pete managed to electrify the banjo using a flat microphone wound tightly with copper wire.

Modern day usage

In recent times, banjos are often heard in various genres of electronic music, such as electro, techno, and trance. It's usage became popular after a man by the alias of Electronic Peasant created a way to alter banjo wavelengths into a more compilable form[2]. Kermit, former member of Pink Floyd was known for using the banjo in "imaginative" and innovative ways. Other noteworthy artists include Adam Sandler and Liza Minnelli.

There are others, so called "purists", who are against the recent development the banjo has taken. Amongst them Anton LaVay has criticized this direction calling it a "perverse molestation" of an originally beautiful instrument. He goes on to identify the original culprit as Holmström. LaVay feels people have forgotten the original values and purposes of the banjo.
