He's a pickle

Piccolo is a cucumber, or more precisely a pickle as his name implies. He is an antagonist in the popular manga and anime series Dragonball, but eventually reaches an enlightened state and joins the party. Piccolo's counterpart, Kami (神 Kami-Sama), is the god of Earth as his original Japanese name indicates. This is believed to be an allusion to Cucumberism. USA, a predominantly Christian country, censored his name and refers to him throughout the series as Kami, the gaurdian of Earth.
