The Rolling Stones

The rolling stones was a band formed by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. The band had a very short life span, lasting only between March and October 1962. However they managed to release a total of 25 studio albums, 10 live albums and 92 singles, and three music videos all starring a nude Charlton Heston.

Early History

Richards and Jagger both went to the same catholic school, but were both expelled after preaching the word of the cucumber to their classmates. A long period of their youth was now spent riding trains and buying albums. Keith recalls, " So I get on this train one morning, and there's Jagger and under his arm he has four or five albums... He's got Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters and a Fleetwood Mac bootleg". These three albums would define the sound of "The Rolling Stones". Their first gig was in Brighton playing in the birthday of the 74 year old Helmut Fellenscmitt who would later describe the band by saying, "It was loud, hot, steamy, quite a lot like Fleetwood Mac". The line up was then Jagger on Vocals, Richards on guitar, Charlie Watts on drums and Brian Jones on a tricycle. The band fired Jones in late April saying, "It sort of looked cool, but he really didn't do anything". After recruiting Ronnie Wood, simply because he "sort of looked like someone who could play guitar", the band recorded their 3 first albums in 6 days.

Late History

The band disbanded in October after an arguement on Gariams role in Cucumberism.
